The Graduate School of Korean Studies in the Academy of Korean Studies is a designated host institution for the GKS(Global Korea Scholarship) Program for international students administered by the National Institute for International Education. Through the GKS program, international students may undertake one year of Korean language training, followed by enrollment in Master’s or doctoral programs in Korean studies at our Graduate School.
We are pleased to announce the 2026 GKS University Track admissions, and warmly invite applications from talented students who are passionate about Korea and Korean studies.
1. Programs Offered: Master’s or Doctoral degree programs
2. Available Majors: 13 majors in the humanities and social sciences related to Korea
3. Scholarship Benefits: Round-trip airfare, tuition, language training fees, and monthly stipends (KRW 14,400,000 per year for language training; KRW 16,560,000 per year for degree programs)
4. Eligibility: Applicants must hold the nationality of a designated country
‣ TOPIK scores are not required. However, applicants to the Master’s program in Korean Cultural Studies must submit an official English proficiency score: TOEFL iBT 80 or 4.5, IELTS Academic Module 6.5 or above.
