King Sejong Institute in Montreal

King Sejong Institute is a representative national brand of Korean language and culture education. It is an organization that teaches the Korean language and culture to non-native Korean speakers who want to learn it as a second language or a foreign language.

The King Sejong Institute in Montreal was approved by the Government of the Republic of Korea in June 2019 and has established itself as a reputable Korean language institute in Quebec. It has the standard curriculum, evaluation and completion system of King Sejong Institute, and operates the language institute and Sejong Culture Academy.

Sejong Korean series

Sejong Korean Series has been developed to help Korean language learners studying at King Sejong Institute to improve their communication skills in Korean and deepen their understanding of Korean culture.

K-Culture Course

Sejong Culture Academy in Montreal organizes specialized cultural programs to keep up with the demand of locals who are interested in Korean culture.

Korean Speech
and Writing Contest

The KSI Korean Speech/Writing Contest is one of the KSIF’s flagship scholarship programs. KSIs all around the world hold preliminaries from April to July every year. The winners of each KSI’s speech and writing contest are invited to “KSI’s Invitational Training for Outstanding Learners” organized by the KSIF in October. The winners of each institute will be provided with an electronic learning device as an additional prize.

SKA: The Sejong Korean Language Assessment

The Sejong Korean Language Assessment (SKA) is an examination designed to evaluate the Korean communication skills of foreigners and overseas Koreans who do not speak Korean as their first language. The test considers the categories, items, and details of the national-level standardized Korean language curriculum in accordance with the ‘standard Korean language curriculum’ announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

TOPIK
The Test of Proficiency in Korean

The Test of Proficiency in Korean is a Korean language test offered two times annually (in Jan, Mar, Apr, Jul, Oct, Nov) to foreigners in Korea and twice annually (Apr, Oct) to people studying Korean in other countries. TOPIK is administered by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED – 국립국제교육원). King Sejong Institute in Montreal is the official implementation of the Montreal region.
