🏆 2026 Quiz on Korea in Montreal

Quiz on Korea is back!

This annual global competition challenges non-Korean adults on a wide range of topics, from K-culture and history to current events.

We are looking for one winner from the local preliminary round to represent Canada at the Grand Final in South Korea.

Finalists will compete on a special broadcast by KBS, Korea’s national public broadcaster, and will receive complimentary round-trip airfare and accommodation.

1. Event Overview

ㅇ Event Name: 2026 Quiz on Korea in Montreal

ㅇ Date & Time: Saturday, May 2, 2026, 13:00 – 16:00

ㅇ Location: Université de Montréal – Pavillon 3200 Jean-Brillant, B-2305 (Address: 3200 Jean Brillant St, Montreal, QC H3T 1N8)

* Please note: The final winner will be invited to Korea as Canada’s representative to participate in the Grand Final (scheduled for early September).

2. Registration

ㅇ Deadline: Thursday, April 30, 2026

3. Eligibility

ㅇ Must be 18 years of age or older (as of May 2, 2026)

ㅇ Must hold legal status in Canada or Canadian citizenship

* Please note: All applicants are eligible to win the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes, however only those with a Canadian passport are eligible for the grand prize of travel to Korea and moving forward to the final round.

ㅇ The applicant and their immediate family members must not currently hold, or have previously held South Korean citizenship

ㅇ Must not have participated in any previous Grand Finals of “Quiz on Korea” in Korea

ㅇ Must be available to travel to and stay in Korea during the Grand Final period (early September)

ㅇ Open to individuals with a strong interest in Korea and solid knowledge of the country

4. Competition Format

ㅇ Quizzes on Korea, including history, society, culture, and pop music, will be presented in various formats such as true/false (O/X), multiple choice, consonant quizzes, and short-answer questions

ㅇ Questions will be provided in English, French, and Korean, and will be organized by varying levels of difficulty

5. Prizes and Benefits

ㅇ Grand Prize: Qualification to participate in the Grand Final in Korea (round-trip airfare, Korean cultural experience, and all accommodation expenses fully covered)
